About this book

By the last row, your child is writing — not tracing. On every letter page the gray letters fade — six, then three, then just the two ends of the row — until your child writes alone. That bridge from tracing to real writing is the one thing tracing books usually skip.

And every letter teaches itself the same way: a short spoken cue ("Big line down. Three bars across."), numbered stroke arrows at the big model letter, a start dot and a stop bar on every trace — then five practice lines ending in the memory step: hide the model with one hand and write the letter all alone, the step that makes letters stick. When a row is done, your child circles their best letter.

  • Letters in formation families — round letters, down-strokes, humps, then zigzags — not A-B-C order, because that is how hands actually learn
  • Numbered stroke arrows + a spoken path cue on all 52 letterforms — traced with a finger first, then the pencil
  • Dot-to-dot letters: each letter family ends in stroke-order dot-to-dots — connecting the numbered dots IS forming the letter the taught way
  • Tall, small, or tail: every small letter is tagged by its size — touches the top line, stays in the middle, or hangs below — the school vocabulary that makes neat sizing click, with a letter-houses sorting game
  • The letters schools really teach — genuine school-handwriting forms, the plain single-storey a and g
  • Six warm-up pages on the developmental stroke ladder — standing lines to zigzags, diagonals last, the order young hands master them
  • Five ruled practice lines on every page — plus tiny words, fourteen rhyming word families, picture words, a secret color-by-letter picture, fill-the-ABC-gaps, an A-to-Z dot-to-dot, two extra practice pages for the tricky ones, and a certificate. The little words are all ones a beginner can sound out — no confusing sight words
  • Left-handed friendly — letter models at BOTH ends of the row, so a left hand never hides the example
  • One calm activity per page — big, uncluttered pages that never overwhelm a beginner, with a letter-mastery star chart to color as each letter is earned

For ages 3–5, in a big 8.5 × 8.5 inch format with room for small hands. Ten minutes at a time is plenty — and when the book is full, the QR code inside prints more free practice pages.
