About this book

Twenty-four days. Three stories, each with its own maze. Nothing repeats.

One big picture to color every day, and every day page says how many sleeps are left. Six kinds of game take turns — mazes, dot-to-dots, count-and-finds, shadow matches, word searches in painted Christmas frames and spot-the-difference — and three short stories run through the month, each read across two days and followed by a maze and a dot-to-dot from the story itself: a snowman with one mitten, two mice who finish the mittens in the night, and a fox who finds her way home by the lights in the windows.

  • 24 days, 60 activities — and a color-a-door advent calendar to track them
  • 3 stories about sharing, kindness and looking out for each other, three pages each — two parts one day, the last the next, then the story's own puzzles
  • A word scramble, a color-by-number and a Christmas collage — eight pieces to cut out and glue onto the day's own picture
  • One small thing to do together every day — off the page, a minute each, nothing to buy
  • Every maze is someone helping someone — home before the snow covers the path, the star back on the tree
  • A cut-out craft every sixth day — ornaments, a little village, a night sky, and the star for the top of the tree — and the collage on Day 20
  • A letter to Santa to write, a tree to decorate, a family tree to fill in, a feelings page and a table do-and-do-not
  • Every maze has exactly one way through, because the program that drew them cannot draw one that has none — and every answer is in the back
  • Single-sided coloring and craft pages — markers never spoil the next picture, and nothing a child cuts out sits in the fold

Twenty-four days, not twenty-five: the countdown ends on the night it is for. No year is printed, so it keeps.
