Free Cutting Practice Worksheet: Straight Lines

What it builds

Cutting uses both hands in different roles at once — one rotating the paper, one working the scissors. That bilateral coordination underlies handwriting, tying laces and using a ruler.

How to use it

• •Work through the progression in order: straight lines, then wavy, then zigzag, then shapes. Skipping steps is the usual cause of frustration.
• •Child-safe blunt-tip scissors for ages 3–5; pointed-tip safety scissors from 5.
• •Left-handed children need actual left-handed scissors — ambidextrous ones do not work.
• •Supervise throughout, every time.
